The low speed prevents any drafty “wind chill” and keeps the airflow steady and consistent. How can you know if your ceiling fan direction is set for Winter? Turn on the ceiling fan, stand under the fan blades and look up to see if the blades are rotating clockwise. The fan blades should rotate like hands on a clock, starting from the top, moving around to the right, and back to the top.
